The parts you touch the most – the steering wheel, gearshift, and center console – have been improved for the 2022 iteration of the Porsche Macan. The most notable change is the new center console, which features haptic elements in lieu of traditional buttons. This allows for a cleaner appearance without sacrificing functionality. The 2022 Macan also sees upgrades to the infotainment system. The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) screen now measures 10.9 inches (0.8 inches larger than last year) and features voice control. In our admittedly biased opinion, we think that the Porsche Macan is one of the best looking luxury crossovers on the market. Thankfully, Porsche didn’t change much about the exterior of the Porsche Macan, but what they did change results in, to our eyes, a subtle visual improvement. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned to give the Macan a high-class, high-performance look. In addition, seven new wheel designs are available, in a range of sizes from 19-inches to 21-inches. Buyers can choose between wheel styles that emphasize performance, luxury, utility – or just about any combination of all three. In addition, LED headlights and taillights are now standard equipment across the range, offering a more attractive, luxury appearance during the daytime and superior visibility at night.
2022 Porsche Macan Performance Updates
For 2022, every trim level of the Porsche Macan receives an increase in horsepower. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine found in the base Macan is now rated at 261 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 3 hp and 22 lb-ft over last year’s model. When equipped with the optional Sport Chrono package, the 2022 Porsche Macan can reach 60 miles per hour in just 5.8 seconds – three tenths of a second faster than the 2021 Macan with the Sport Chrono package.
The Macan S inherits the 2.9 liter twin-turbo V6 from last year’s Macan GTS. This engine is good for an impressive 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds with the Sport Chrono package. The Macan Turbo has been discontinued for 2022, but fret not – its fire-breathing 434 horsepower 2.9 liter twin-turbo V6 lives on in the 2022 Macan GTS, which now represents the top of the Macan range. Producing 406 lb-ft of torque, the Macan GTS can reach 60 miles per hour in a brief 4.1 seconds when equipped with the Sport Chrono package.
